Multi-disciplinary experience, across academia, government and extensive practice in psychological consulting.
Having born to academicians, was passionate about academic pursuits and so formative years (after Ph.D) were spent in teaching at a slew of colleges and universities, coaching and deliberating case-studies with young psychology learners helped in validating theories and mentoring them.
Down the line became interested in studying relevance and application of theory so joined Punjab State AIDS Control Society, Chandigarh to impart and study the impact of public policy. Led focused healthcare campaigns in creating social awareness of AIDS amongst at-risk population. Engaging on-ground with voluntary networks and patients helped in empathising and understanding perspectives, diverse to teaching.
Since then, whilst practicing as a mental health consultant, I have also been mentoring young students to intern with me.
I regularly conduct talk-shows for corporate-clients on creating more awareness about mental health issues amongst co-workers, and encouraging delegates to reach-out to specialists in case of need. Purpose is to actively contribute in removing stigma tagged to mental health in India by encouraging seekers to rise to seek solutions to their psychological issues than fighting them in solitude and agony.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an “action-oriented” and “problem-focused” therapy that aims to identify negative thoughts, beliefs and attitudes; and replace them with positivity. This therapy is effective for a wide range of mental health issues like depression, anxiety, etc.
Behavioural therapy is a structured approach to motivate individuals to identify unhealthy behaviour patterns and unlearn them. The focus is on the present rather than past behaviour. The goal of the therapy is to foster positive behaviour change.
Person Centered Therapy
It is a humanistic approach in which the Psychologist listens to the individual without any judgement and tries to understand the experiences from the individual’s perspective. It helps one to realize his/her true self and achieve the full potential.
Allied Therapies like Yoga and Music
Allied therapies are becoming popular among individuals for stress and anxiety management. These therapies are engaging as well as beneficial. Numerous research studies have highlighted the effectiveness of yoga and music in attaining both physical and mental health.
